INDEPENDENT LIVING 1993 FUND

WHO CAN APPLY?

1. AGE : be at least 16 and under 66.

2.DISABILITY AND CARE NEEDS receive the highest care component of Disability Living Allowance

3. INCOME AND RESOURCES : have savings of less than £18,500

and

have an income that is insufficient to cover the cost of the care you need

You do not have to be in receipt of Income Support to qualify, but awards are means - tested and you will be expected to contribute part of your income towards the cost of your care.

4. LOCAL AUTHORITY INVOLVEMENT : be assessed by your Local Authority as being at risk of entering residential care or as being capable of leaving it to live in the community

and

receive at least £200 worth of services a week from your Local Authority ( net of any contribution you make )

and

be assessed as needing additional care. The 93 Fund is able to pay up to a maximum of £375 per week.
